What I'm actively working on and thinking about
ML Generalization
My PhD dissertation focused on overfitting in machine learning. I originally worked in the financial sector, publishing in math and economics journals on ML and finance. I'm continuing this work in healthcare, where overfitting on training data and poor generalization to real clinical populations remains a major unsolved problem.
